Scholastic Bowl Takes Third
Varsity Scholastic Bowl won 3rd place in the Okaw Valley Tournament this
past weekend at St. Teresea High School in Decatur. The team competed against
12 teams total. Divya Verma was selected for the All-Conference team based
on the amount of toss up questions she answered correctly. Congratulations
to the Varsity Scholastic Bowl team on an impressive performance!
Patton Hangs Jersey In Hall
On
Saturday, Amber Patton, '05, had her Chicago Bandits jersey hung in the
hallway of Maroa-Forsyth High School. After
graduating from MFHS in 2005, Amber went on to star as a two-time all-american
at Depaul, play professionally
as a Chicago Bandit, and was a member of Team U.S.A. Amber is accompanied
in the above picture by her father Tim, and her mother Donna.
December Student of the Month
Sophomore, Dylan Berry-Positive and hard-working,
Dylan Berry is the December Student of the Month. Dylan is always in
a good mood and ready to lend
a helping
hand,
whether working in band or in the classroom. He has shown a great deal
of progress in band, and it is no coincidence. He comes to class everyday
willing to learn and improve and even comes in during study hall for
extra tuba practice. All of his hard work has certainly paid off, and
he sounded great on the Winter concert.- Mr. James
