Former Students of the Month '09-'10
February/Emily Kane, So..-Always going above and beyond, Emily Kane has been chosen as February's Student of the Month. Emily consistently shows extra effort on all assignments, and her positive attitude and willingness to help others make her a delight to have in class. Emily has a pleasant personality and is always polite and friendly to her peers and teachers. With these attributes, there is no doubt that Emily will continue to succeed in the future, both inside and outside of the classroom. Congratulations to Emily for all her hard work!.–Mrs. Romine & Mr. Adreon

January/Chelsey Wilson, Sr.-A goal for our high school students is to have them become honest, hardworking and caring individuals who can make a difference in their communities. Chelsey Wilson has clearly accomplished this goal. You can find Chelsey volunteering in other classrooms, donating her time to help teachers with various projects, and helping at home with her siblings. She is an individual who gives her best effort in all that she does. Chelsey has goals in mind and is working hard to achieve them. I know that she will be an asset to any community in which she becomes involved. I wish her continued success –Mrs. Hazlehurst

December/Dylan Berry, So. -Positive and hard-working, Dylan Berry is the December Student of the Month. Dylan is always in a good mood and ready to lend a helping hand, whether working in band or in the classroom. He has shown a great deal of progress in band, and it is no coincidence. He comes to class everyday willing to learn and improve and even comes in during study hall for extra tuba practice. All of his hard work has certainly paid off, and he sounded great on the Winter concert.- Mr. James

November/Blake Davis, So.- I've chosen Blake Davis as our November student of the month for many reasons. Blake shows a great deal of maturity for a Sophomore and takes responsibility for his learning and development. Not only does Blake take the initiative to ensure he's prepared for tests and quizzes, he does so with a positive attitude and an appreciation for learning. Blake is kind toward students and faculty alike. These qualities make Blake Davis a perfect choice for a model Trojan! Congratulations!-Ms. Manuel

October/Mary Tomlovich, Jr.- Mary is an example of everything that is right with our student body. With a kind heart and willingness to help, Mary never stops trying to make Maroa-Forsyth a better place to learn. Mary knows how to help her fellow students just when they need it the most. It can be with helping them with a difficult assignment, a kind word, or just being there for a friend.
Congratulations Mary Tomlovich on being named Maroa-Forsyth Student of the Month.-Mr Applebee

September/Joshua Cox, Sr.- Joshua was chosen for the student of the month for being an exemplary role model for his fellow classmates. Josh continually puts maximum effort into everything he does. Josh's relentless work ethic has helped him succeed in his academic endeavors as well as earned him the respect of his peers and teachers. One example that sticks out is Josh's effort after our Field Day on our homecoming. Josh was the first student to volunteer to help pick up all the trash left behind by his classmates, thus making the facility much more appealing for the football game that evening.
-Mr. Adreon

August/August Wells So.-Sophomore August Wells- August was chosen for the student of the month for so willingly and cheerfully assisting the students and staff at MFHS. August was my "Good Samaritan" at the beginning of the school year when I needed assistance with classroom technology. Mrs. Petrucha adds "August volunteered to help me with a variety of tasks. He completed them correctly and in a timely manner." August can also be found assisting the football and basketball teams at their competitions. I appreciate the friendly smile and the "how's your day going" as I pass him in the hall.
-Miss Griffith

March/Blake Woolard, Sr..-A hard worker and a great recipient for student of the month is senior Blake Woolard. Blake earned high honor roll for the first time this last quarter by being diligent in getting his work completed and handed in on time to his teachers. Several teachers commented that Blake has a great sense of humor, is polite, courteous and helpful. He is a pleasure to have in class. Congratulations to Blake Woolard, our choice for March 2010 Student Of the Month. .–Ms. Bates
